Message from PCS

Paul Jennings, CEOby Paul Jennings, CEO

As the CEO of PCS and a veteran of the inmate telephone business for over 20 years, I believe our industry is undergoing some of the most significant changes it has ever seen. These changes are heavily driven by the advent of inexpensive broadband which has provided a host of new opportunities, but with it, some new liabilities.

For example, with the proliferation of cell phones in prison and its detrimental effect on security, the industry faces some of its toughest regulatory issues.  Some of these challenges are the unintentional consequences of long-standing legislation, such as the FCC's ban on blocking cell phone signals.

As a result of the compression of the product offering cycle in our industry, as well as other overall industry changes, PCS is launching a bi-monthly newsletter that will focus on delivering meaningful information in context to the issues that affect nationwide correctional agencies. Our objective is to help correctional facility staff with managing today's environment while also assisting them in planning for the future and the upcoming changes that it will entail.  Each newsletter will provide an update on present issues as well as the introduction of new developments as they surface.

I look forward to maintaining our market position as a source of objective information to best educate our customers.
